Aeric is a very smart and resourceful young man. He inherited his father's cruel face, but also his kindness and generosity, along with his father's goodness and devotion to the people of Romiene province of Dhoesone. He is often mistaken as being very naive and trusting, which he has used to his advantage, with those who would try to cheat him. Although his life has been filled with tragedy, loss and war, he has never been very sheltered, remaining very steadfast, and goal oriented. He was kept form his father for many year, loves him and sees him as a model for leadership. But, for political reasons, he is not allowed to spend much time with his father, the Count Romiene. He has an active dislike for the other two real sons of the Count, and the feeling is mutual. He sees Moergan, and Stiele Romiene as rivals, not so much as for his father's Title, but for his affection. Sir Aeric has set upon a quest to start his own Royal House, House Crucis, since he has no chance to inherit the lands of his true father. But his feelings for the Count are much deeper and more complex than Aeric leads others to believe. His heart tells him that his father is one day going to accept him, not just as a Bastard son, but as his son in all things. His love for his father consumes him, and his father's ideals, and regal strength help Aeric to find strength by example. Strength, and faith in himself when he feels he is alone in the world, with nothing except his equipment, and honor.
